Schweibert Club of Future Teachers of America was organized May 2, 1951, and received its charter on February 12, 1952. The purpose of the club is to encourage young people to prepare for the teaching profession, and to furnish them with infor- mation and inspiration for their calling. Officers for 1952 are Darrell Burback, Presidentg Clifford Abe, Vice-Presidentg Virginia Ernst, Secretary. Sponsors are Mrs. Peterson, Mrs. Altig, and Mr. Von Drak. The theme for the present year is Meet the Profession, directed by Chairman, Jo Ann Benham, Irma Uphouse, jo Ann Gluch and Tom Sprague. An active project committee consists of Chairman, Url Utterback, Carolyn Ernst, Barbara Zimmerman and Donna Evans. Donna Shoemaker heads the Social committee assisted by Beverly Ayers, Jeanne Savell, and Shirley Foley. 7

Shirley Carpender, President, was greatly assisted by her five hard working ofhcers and Executive Board. Ofhcers were: Vice President, Virginia Ernst, Secretary, Cassandra Handfordg Treasurer, Phyllis Glenng Historian, Yvonne Bates and Parliamentarian, Dorothy Engle. A Newcomers' Tea and Picnic in the park started the year rolling. During National Ii.H.A. Wfeek-November 2-8-they celebrated by having a party attended by all the members. The Fall Convention, which was held in Caldwell this year, the State Convention and the International Dinner were three of the more outstanding events of the year.
