FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENT MARILZA CAMILHER My name is Marilza Periquito Camilher. I’m an In- ternational Fellowship Exchange student from Brazil. My father’s name is Waldir and my mother's Marilia. I have one brother, Mauro and one sister, Marlise, who is married. I always say 1 have a big family because to me family means: grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. In Brazil, I've graduated. I've completed a course that will enable me to teach Elementary School. I plan to go to college as soon as I go back. I want to study to teach the Portuguese and the English languages. In Brazil, I live near the ocean. Swimming is very popular and all the people are very tanned. The favorite past times for Brazilian people, and naturally for me, are: soccer, Carnival (a popular festival celebrated during the pre-Lenten period with typical Brazilian music for this occasion--the Samba ), and drinking coffee (hot, strong, and sweet). I like to travel. I think it is very important to know new places and more important than that is to know people. This is my second visit to the United States. I had a brief visit to New England states two years ago. I've been here since December 23. I'm staying with the Robert Stroup family in Dannebrog. A small town with a big heart. I decided to be a foreign exchange student to learn more English, to know the American people and of course the United States that I can say is a marvellous place. The first days here were hard for me as I'm very close with my family and friends. But meeting a really nice American family and all the friendly and kind people of Centura, I can say the time has gone very fast and I can not think about the time I'll be leaving here--my twenty-four hour a day school. Well, dear American friends, being here with you has been one of the most heart-warming experience that I have had. I’m sure that going back to Brazil I'll have numerous mementoes and many fond memories of my stay in the United States. Here is my THANKS from a Brazilian heart for 6 months of good times. 28 STATE BANK OF DANNEBROG Member F.D.I.C. Dannebrog, Nebraska
