Football The Vikings football squad enjoyed a favorable season. About seventy candidates reported for practice September 3. Seven veterans, supplemented by eight reserves of last season, formed the nucleus of the varsity squad. This squad was the lightest in the history of C. H. S. Working hard to overcome the handicap of lack of weight, the Vikings set sail for a conference championship. Playing defensive ball the Vikings played Mt. Pleasant anad Lake City to scoreless ties. Opening Conference play at Ludington, in a dedication game, the Vikings whipped the 1934 champs 7-0. Continuing their victorous voyage the gallant crew of the good ship Viking defeated their arch-rivals, the Trojans of Traverse City, 24-12. Reaching their peak against the Chippewas of Manistee the varsity swamped them, 39-0. In the following game old man injuries overtook the Vikings and they suffered the only conference defeat at the hands of Pe-toskey, 6-13. Slipping, the Vikings lost to Fremont, 7-26. Winding up the season at Big Rapids the Vikings suffered the third defeat, 0-27. Throughout the season Cadillac was noted for its fast charging line and great defensive play. After the last game, Wayne Falan was elected honorary captain for the past season.
