What other person on the ship shoots stars, is an expert helmsman, and can practically plot a Course blindfolded but a- Quartermaster? When at sea the members of the navigation depart- ment are kept busy making sure the ship's log is up to date and taking fixes on our po- sition to be sure that we are where we should be. During UNREPs it's the Quartermasters who man the helm in both the pilot house and after- sterring.
