This yearfs most popular movie was NET. Other popular movies that dealt with school were llPorky's,f' 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and llHomework. Going to the movies was a time to see friends and to catch up on the latest gossip. lt was not always easy to see the movie of one's choice. Many movies were rated UR , which restricted those under seventeen from seeing a movie without their parents. However, quite a few students were successful in getting in to see the movies.
