PROGRAM EXPANDS IN ENGLISH ARTS Is there an academic field which does not duly make use of English as a means of communication? Facility with one's own language is a prerequisite to understanding, whether it is merely comprehension of a foreman's instructions to his workers or an analysis of difficult philosophical idea. The English Department emphasizes all aspects of communications--speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Four English teachers are new to the English Departmentg bringing new ideas and spirit to the instruction of English. 18 ACADEMICS
