STUDENT COUNCIL This year's student council, under the supervision of Mr. Constantine, President Bob Kilner and Vice-president Bev Casper, and the invaluable help of Mr. Hadden, has enjoyed another successful year. The council has provided the student body with leadership and service. Many activities were sponsored by the l963-64 council. Some of these were as follows: selling gametickets, maintainingbookstore, sponsoring record hops, and organizing Christmas activities and student entertain- ment. Many new ideas were also discussed and organized by the council. Through the efforts of the council we were able to have a foreign exchange student live with us this year. 35

We, at Byron-Bergen, are proud to have Christof I-Ioentszch with us this year as our first foreign exchange student. Chris carne to this country last August under the Ameri- can Field Service program and will return to his home in Kempten, West Germany in June. He has been residing with the Alton Arnold family in Bergen. The purpose of the AFS program is to give foreign students a chance to live for an ex- tended period of time in the United States and to broaden their understanding of the American people and their way of life. We hope that Chris has enjoyed his stay with us, as much as we have enjoyed his pre- sence, and we should like to extend our best wishes to him for the future. ACTIVITIES Ch flst
