il 1 Closing Comments Preparing to mail the final copy of this years yearbook forces me to reflect on the past nine months. They have been busy, filled with emotions Hom hysteria to elation, and they have brought about a personal triumph for all those involved. I owe a great debt to each of m y staff mem bers. They ha ve persevered when others would have quit. I appreciate their long hours of work and attention to detail. Words of appreciation seem a small token for my co-editors, Dana Sayre and Terry Tamashiro. Their devotion, determination and vision of what could be have served as a source of inspiration for all of us. Someone once told me, 'nothing the heart gives away is lost. It lives in the hearts of others. The 1987 Pirate staff ga ve much, and my heart is full from their gift of dedication. Mary Willis Yearbook adviser
