SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Four years ago, we, the Class of 1956, began a segment of our journey through life. In 1952, 1953 we were Freshmen. That year we painted the B and what a grand and glorious job we did. We were subjected to Kangaroo Kourt, which, that year, was sponsored by the Student Council. Everything was the first for us--brand new and very exciting. We sponsored a dance-our first one-The Frosh Frolic. By the time we had successfully entered our Sophomore year, we had grown a little more accustomed to high school life. We had almost learned the gentle art of working together. Our class meetings were somewhat quieter and it seemed as though we didn't all talk at once. That year, 1953-1954, we sponsored the Sno-Ball and the Sophomore Hop. Suddenly we had terminated our Sophomore year and at long last were upperclass- men. By this time we had acquired a considerable sum of money. Our junior year we ordered our cherished class rings. Happily, they arrived the day we decorated for the Junior Prom. We sponsored the Junior-Senior Banquet with the theme, Evening in Paris, and the Commencement Dance honoring the Class of '55. Finally, we became Seniors, and everything was the last-the last Homecoming Dance we'd attend while still in high school, the last Football Banquet, and so a little more meaning was attached to the events which we had thought ordinary. We put our number on the hill but not without some difficulty, thanks to quite a number of juniors and underclassmen. Now, gone the way of all Seniors, we were without funds, but we managed. Graduation pictures were taken. A strange sensation rippled about when we discussed caps and gowns and announcements. We sponsored a successful Senior Ball at Christmas. The months rolled by, soon it was May, and our Com- mencement was here. And so we closed an important chapter in our lives. In the years to come we'll remember the wonderful times we shared. As in the title of our class song, We'll Have These Moments to Remember.
