OPPOSITE PAGE: In cooperation with local Civil Defense authorities, Butler students and staff members participated in a city-wide tornado safety drill lost fall. All participants were in place in eight minutes. THIS PAGE: A Swine Flu Clinic was held on Oct. 28, for people 18-65 years of age. The clinic was part of a notion- wide effort to avert a winter epidemic of Swine Flu. College Night was held Oct. 26, in conjunction with a P.T.A. meeting in the commons area. Many Alabama colleges were represented, along with several from surrounding states. Students and parents were able to talk with representatives from each college or technical school of interest to them. 25

Since the opening of the Von Braun Civic Center, students not only at Butler but other schools as well have had the chance to see and hear many concerts. Featured at the VBCC have been CHICAGO, YES, SEALS CROFTS, BARRY MANILOW, and THE JACKSON FIVE. Many others have also performed in Huntsville. Butler students have been fortunate enough to hear some of the finest local bands such as ZODIAC (at a Fifth Quarter Dance), and WAYNE CHANEY THE MUSCLE SHOALS REVUE (Homecoming).
