Grizzlies Display Comeback Attitude Coach Shottel described the 1971 football season as exciting and challenging ' 1 . With a record of four wins and six losses, the team displayed a great desire to win in all of their games. The great comeback attitude displayed in the Homecoming game will long be re- membered by the Grizzly fans. Butler County came from a 21-0 deficit at the end of the first half to score a smashing 39-33 defeat against Independence. With only 10 sophomores on the squad, the season was one in which a great many freshmen gained valu- able experience. The Grizzlies relied heavily on their defense and used passing as a tremendous weapon. The result was winning the Grizzly Bowl and a second in League passing. Butler offense prepares to fight it out to the end. Bill Townsley goes for another touchdown . : :s . •s. ' -r - : - .- .■ , ■ 60 Competition
