Music at Juco For the first time in the history of EJC, students this year have had an oppor- tunity to secure credit in a variety of music courses in addition to chorus, which has been a part of the program for many years. Classes in music appreciation and fundamentals of music provide an introductory study. A course in theory offers work in harmony, sight singing, ear training, and keyboard harmony. Credit is also given in courses in applied music, including voice, piano, and organ. The ensemble offers to a select group of students a special chance to learn and enjoy a wide variety of vocal music. Students may also receive credit in band. The college band provides a signifi- cant contribution to all sports events. Still another music group this year has been the Combo Band that has made a study of various types of dance music and has play- ed for a number of social affairs at the college during the year. The music opportunities now offered at EJC are a welcome addition to the cur- riculum. 27
