In 1921 the hospital became a com- munity institution. In 1931 the institution was reincorporated, and named the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital and School of Nursing, in memory of the mother of Franklin S. Allen. The school offers a three- year basic program in professional nursing. Through a cooperative arrangement the students take regu- lar Junior College courses the first two years . In August, 1960, the School of Nursing accelerated its educational program under the leadership of Mrs. Eula Ashbrook, Director, and Helen McCullough, Educational Director.
