They finished in a tie with Ark City for fourth place in the conference. The Juco squad was ably coached again this year by Bob Douglass and his new assistant, John Ivy. Although they suffered more than their share of injuries and tough luck, the El Dorado team of 1955 will long be remembered for the fight and de- sire to win so plainly shown in every game they played. Jim Wiesen .- ' Wilson Stockey FOOTBALL SNAPS The El Dorado Grizzlies began the season with two very impressive victories over Fairbury, Nebraska, and Parsons. With two wins under their belt, they traveled to Dodge City, where they were defeated 7-14. This was a rough one to lose, in that Dodge scored one touchdown with just a few seconds left in the first half. The Grizzlies played a very fine game the next week in beating a good C offeyville club, but got bumped again by one touchdown at the hands of Ark City. They had a week ' s lay-off and then came back strong to drop Independence 26-13. Garden City rolled into town the next week and were just too much to handle. The Grizzlies finished off the season in fine shape, though, by dropping Hutchinson and beating Pratt at the homecoming game. HOMECOMING QUEEN FARALENE WENTLING At the dance following the Pratt game, home- coming Queen Faralane was crowned by game cap- tain, Larry Davis. Her two attendants, Eleanor Led- better and Sue Wilson, were escorted by Bill Orth and Danny O ' Brien. ]fi fi DA SCHOOLER El Dorado Junior College Grizzlies took off for the second straight year under the guidance of a new coach, Don Hight from Neodesha. The team had moderate success to date with a total of nine wins and eleven losses. DAVE DENNIS JERRY HESS DEE HUBBARD JACK FOSTER Following a mid -season slump, the boys were victorious with three straight wins. The first was a victory over Dodge City by a score of 97 to 60, the second was a triumph over Parsons, and a win over Chanute by the score of 83 to 75 was the third. As this page goes to press, hopes are high for a victorious ending of the 1955-56 season. Not pictured is Ray Houser who joined the team second semester.
