GRIZZLY Mascot of El Dorado Junior College To one who has served the El Dorado Junior College faithfully and well, who has inspired the teams to success, and who has fostered the development of school spirit — in short, to Gruffy T. Grizzly — this yearbook is respectfully dedicated, with the deepest appreciation for his years of loyal service. And now, a word from the matchless Gruffy himself: It is with the greatest pleasure that I accept this honor which has been conferred upon me. I am extremely proud to be the mascot of such an outstanding school as El Dorado Juco, and I am very happy to have this opportunity to present the people and organizations that make up the El Dorado Junior College.

Edwards Industrial Arts Robert Douglass Athletics and Woodworking PAUL HAWKINS Superintendent of the El Dorado Public Schools Gruff y Speaks: It is with genuine respect that I pre- sent these two fine administrators, Paul Hawkins, Superinten- dent of El Dorado Public Schools, and Max Bickford, Dean of El Dorado Junior College. Mr. Hawkins has been associated with the El Dorado schools for about twenty years, and he has served capably as superintendent for two years. Dean Bickford (pictured on the next page) has been with Juco since 1946. He needs no introduction to any Jucoite, for all know him as an under- standing and good-natured friend.
