This society is officially called Order of the Purple,- and the local chapter was granted its charter in May, 1937. No more than fifteen per cent of the graduating class may be chosen in a particular year. Election of these graduates is by secret ballot of the faculty and the student council, after a thorough discussion of the qualifi- cations of the candidates. Minimum requirements include a grade point average of two or more, one full year ' s enrollment at El Dorado Junior College, and the completion of twelve hours ' work each semester. This year the following students were honored by election to the Order of the Purple: Barbara Bowyer, Betty Jo Locke, George Harper, Beth DeLong, Howard Knaussman, Fred Doornbos, Richard Alley, Jack Barr, Frank Hall, and Velma Wheeler.
