Dramatics Club THE QUEEIfS HUSBAMD The drama ' s laws, the drama ' s patrons give For that we live to please, must please to live Such holds true in this modern age of 1931 as it did centuries ago in Samuel Johnson ' s day. Thus it has been with the Dramatics Club of El Dorado Junior College. Literally, we have lived this year of 1930-31 to please, and, we have pleased to live. The Dramatics Club has attempted to be an asset to the college in every possible manner. The club ' s outstanding contributions, perhaps, has been the financial backing given to the school. It has been the aim of the Dramatics Club to co-operate willingly and efficiently with all school activities, and, at the same time, to promote the appreciation of dramatics among the students and towns people. The plays prepared and sponsored by this organization have been: The Queen ' s Husband presented November 20 and 21, 1930. A group of one act plays: The Teeth of the Gift Horse ; The Mirror ,- Enduring Hearts given Feb- ruary 12, 1931. The Thirteenth Chair creditably staged on April 17, 1931. The dramatic productions have all been directed by Mr. L. W. Nixon, who has contributed of his time in a most untiring manner to make all the club productions the successes they have been. Officers of the club are President, Ennis Sandberg,- Vice President, Helen Hampson; Secretary, Florence Davis.

y. w. c. a. The Y.W.C.A. considers the year of 1930-31 one of the most satisfactory in its existence in E.J.C. The social service department was especially active this year in helping the Red Cross and other charitable organiza- tions in distributing aid to the needy. All of the members entered into this work with fine cooperative spirit. World fellowship, peace pacts, and international relationship were the themes of the conference which delegates of the y.W.C.A. attended both at the Junior College Conference in Coffeyville and at the joint y.M. and y.W. Conference at Wichita. A notable undertaking of the y.W. was the vesper service given at the First Methodist Church on April 26. Nearly forty girls took part in this service. Cabinet officers who helped to make this a successful year were Frances Caldwell, Florence Davis, Louise Longnecker, Imo Insley, Anna Wilda Hovis, Barbara Boston, Elizabeth McCall, Margery Kilgore, and Mabel Knust.
