SENIOR YEAR 'Book 9 Ruth Zucker! We are astonished! Tell the audience what you are doing here- Miss Tusa is listening expectantly. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, and others, Ruth is now a professor for shall we call her professorette?j of English at Yale! She ufould be persuaded by the Boola Boola boys and their big, collegiate brother, Eli. Dr. Zucker likes racoon coats-if Phi Beta Kappa keys are dangling underneath their shaggy exteriors. Kenneth Castellanos, having at length achieved his life-time ambition, is a well-paid columnist on "The Daily Squawkf' His columns are eagerly awaited by his public each day, and they are so vitally comical, that nobody even notices his sometimes glaring errors in English. Ah, yes, he has been successful, as such things go. He has learned the ways of the world, and the sorrows thereof. But he is not happy, and never shall he be happy until the day when the dawn of his hopes breaks with a roseate hue-when he shall once again return to his beloved Brooklyn, and be able- to order ecstatically-''frankfurter and roll. And step on it"! And Mildred Geller will bring it to him! QApplausej Mary Kraska is going to swim the Atlantic Ocean under water next week. We hope a submarine helps her out, she might forget to catch herlsecond wind, and before she can say "Fire", she'll have lost her first. Then where'll she be? Her third wouldn't do her much good in a case like that, now would it? Laura Rasmussen has been made Secretary of the Treasury by President Qessj Klein. We always said that women would have the way of it some day. Hush, my pro- phetic soul! jeannette Roth watches over Laura to see that she does not abscond with any money. For all we know, they may be plotting to monopolize the gold supply of the whole world-they're ready to propose an amendment to that effect, we'll wager. "Oh, oh! Please wait, do, Father Time." "Time waits for no man," solemnly replies the stage manager. "Oh, but I am a woman!" But he is gone, the curtain has again fallen, and we must wait another hundred years for permission to again unveil the future. Amie Lezfilzsieirz.

8 SENIOR YEAR Book in her spare time. The three have of course revolutionized methods of teaching young children. Their alliterative motto is: "Teach Tots Thoughtfullyf' Gertrude Edelstein is a teacher of American History and Economics. Long may her pupils wavei their hands. Fred Veyhl is a successful fjudging by his salary, actor in the popular talkies, with Matejunas doubling for him in the talking sequences. Incidentally, they are intending to direct, act, and design a new series of entirely unique motion pictures. The "sets" are to be painted in their entirety, by our two marvels, of course, and the cast will consist only of themselves. It is a deep mystery to us how they intend to act and to operate the camera simultaneously. Perhaps it is a waste of time to bother our head over the matter. For it is just barely possible that nobody will care very much about seeing these pictures. There is another of our number who has made a name for himself. Al Ulmer is an ace flyer with innumerable medals on his manly chest. He earned them for originating unusual and nearly disastrous methods of falling gracefully with one's plane. Great honor is due him - and two months' pay. , Edythe Sasuly is a smiling proprietress of a Lane Bryant shop. Anne Levinstein divides ,her time between her art and her domestic duties and just loves it! Edward Hochstetter is the newly-appointed commissioner of Police of Oswegotchee, N. Y. Qbelieve it or not, that's its real namej. He is trying to emulate Grover Whalen, but that gentleman's methods aren't working out so well in a town that is as small as Oswegotchee. However, Eddie is going to stick it out, because the girls of the town are pretty fall three of themj. Al Weis has fulfilled his promise, and is now the leader of the most successful orchestra in the country. Paul Whiteman is still good, but needless to say, hardly anybody speaks of him any more. Al and his Music Makers are booked for the Palace next week. Al Gallo has gone to the other extreme, and is now a noted lawyer, second to none. He aspires to the seat of the Supreme Court judgeship. We could think of better things to do than sit on a bench for the rest of one's life. Ne'ertheless, here's luck, Al! We hnd Hilda Lichtenstein as beautiful as ever Qshe says so herselfj posing for doll faces and the wigs thereof. Wherever she may dart her eye, wax and china effigies of her countenance meet her gaze. She needs no mirrors, and if she likes not her own coiffure, she can borrow that of her favorite dolly. We must warn all her protegees to beware before it is too late. They may suffer a similar fate. Izzy Harris gives us a wholesome shock. Harris, who each morning at Bushwick uttered the now time-honored phrase, "Who's going on a hook'to-day ?", is now a truant olficer, and woe to the urchin who is caught in the Gates Theatre when he should have been in school. But Harris a truant officer! Oh the irony of fate, the unforseen meandering of .destinyl Both Elizabeth Rosenblum and William Metzroth have conquered the gilded path of idleness, and by dint of hard labor Qpresumablyj have jointly been welcomed within the mighty portals of Phi Beta Kappa, or as the Greeks say it, Phi Beta Kappa. We say presumably. Of course, Elizabeth's uncle may be the president of the college she attends, or William's sister may be the dean of the fashionable girls' seminary which he frequents. We don't know. However, despite all we have just been muttering, we are firmly con- vinced that their reward was the result of their own unguided efforts. At any rate, it is only what we expected..
