HEIRLOOM Published by the Class of 1972 Burlington City High School Burlington, New Jersey See the sun rise, open up your eyes. Today is the very first day. Watch the morning come, now the night is gone, Yesterday’s so very far away. TABLE OF CONTENTS DEDICATION............5 ADMINISTRATION and FACULTY...............6 SENIORS .............30 UNDERCLASSMAN........66 ACTIVITIES...........80 FEATURES.............92 ADVERTISEMENTS......117 Our last year is our first year Of many golden days to come: Successes, rainbows, hopes, and tears. We were together, but in our unity We were apart: Each a separate individual. Travelling a different path to tomorrow And seeing different sights along the way We have many memories to take away with us. And hearts to dwell in when our travels lead us far from home. We have learned many things, especially the love of learning more. Being more, and caring more. And to build fine houses We have laid solid foundations And raised strong supports. We have seen the spring come. Heard a baby cry, And watched a bird fly. Free. 2 Mr. Ron Noah” Forst has been a true friend to the class of 1972 throughout the last four years at Burlington City High School. Most of us didn’t get to know him until sophomore year in geometry class. We spent most of our junior year watch- ing him flying here and there between ex- ecutive board meetings for the 1971 prom, A Time For Us.” In addition to being our able advanced math teacher this year, Mr. Forst performed excellent- ly as ski instructor and tour guide on our memorable trip to Pocmont. As class ad- visor, he was always a friend in need.” It is with pleasure and gratitude that we dedicate our 1972 HEIRLOOM to Mr. Ronald Forst. 4 «‘AVON 33HX300X 33V„ MR. FULVIO SEVERI, President Burlington Board of Education EDGEWATER PARK BOARD OF EDUCATION Standing: Mr. J. Flannery, Mr. W. Wilson, Mr. F. Greco, Mr. R. Blackmore, Mr. C. Anderson, Mr. J. Burns; Sealed: Mr. E. Ferri, Solicitor, Mr. S. Todaro, Superintendent, Mr. C. Norman Campbell, President, Mr. R. Slagle, Mr. R. Walton MR. JOHN QUEENAN Burlington Board Solicitor MR. NORMAN CAMPBELL President Edgewater Park Board of Education According to numerous contemporary critics, America is declining as thoroughly and completely as Ancient Rome de- clined! These commentators remind us that our country’s problems are many and complex. Some of our most serious problems are found in the areas of ecology, economics, and social justice. We must think clearly about these problems and become not only concerned, hut actively involved in their solution. We are better educated than the ancient Romans, and, therefore, with the proper ef- fort, we should be able to resolve our dif- ficulties. We are trained through our edu- cational programs to recognize problems. Recognition is the first step on the hard road to the control, or cure of our society’s ills. We owe more than lip service to solving our problems. We have been fortunate in our opportunity to receive an education, and we have, therefore, a corresponding re- sponsibility to contribute to our society by making this a better world in which to live. The fact that you are graduating indicates that you arc interested in solving our com- plex problems. My sincere congratulations to the mem- bers of the Class of 1972 upon the attain- ment of this important educational mile- stone. Best wishes for a successful life in a healthful environment, and a peaceful, prosperous and just society. Mr. Raymond Costello RAYMOND COSTELLO Principal WILLIAM BURR Assl.
