Students wishing to further their education are instructed in this pursuit. Much time is spent in helping with college applications, and tran- scripts, and student recommendations. Students planning to end their studies upon graduation from BSHS are guided into the course which is best suited for achieving their goals. All students profit from the conscientious work of the guidance counselors. Htbraru The library serves as the treasury of ideas of those who have traveled the path before us. Here students can do research on their chosen careers as well as broaden their knowledge in all areas of learning. Instruction is given in the use of the card catalog, the Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature, and overnight reference material. Know- ing how to use the library guarantees success in learning. MR. ROBERT PARATORE Music, Band, Majorettes, Color Guard, Baton Twirlers. Art Paints, easels, brushes, clay — all suggest the atmosphere of the art department. This course can be selected by students desiring some knowl- edge and adeptness in the world of art. A class in crafts is offered to interested students. Work is done in ceramics, leather, and other media. The bulletin boards receive their special care. MR. MARTIN BOONIN Art, Bulletin Boards Ifealth MISS PAULINE ZAUGRA School Nurse Another service to the student is performed by the health department. Miss Pauline Zaugra is kept busy writing excuses for absentees and cur- ing minor aches and pains. It is important that the student be in good physical condition as he strives for his goal through learning. MR. WILLIAM MAHAN Music, Chorus, Orchestra atusk A chance to develop musical ability and ap- preciation is offered to the students through BSHS's music department. This can be elected by any student who wishes to take part in the march- ing band, orchestra, or chorus. Small ensembles are arranged as a further service to the student. Many students achieve positions in the All-State Band and Chorus as well as in the South Jersey Band and Chorus through the direction of the music department.
