Our foreign exchange student this year was Anne-Guri Grotnaes of Norway. Her pleasant personality and cheerfulness have made her a memorable part of our senior year. Anne Guri was very active in school life and was well-liked by everyone. She followed the college preparatory course, particularly enjoying Spanish. She worked in the Snack Shack and had a very big part in the senior play. Anne-Guri’s visit to BSHS was made possible by the American Field Service, whose goal of world peace and understanding was furthered by her visit to the United States. Anne-Guri’s home is in Elverum, a small town in the southern part of Norway. Her Norwegian family consists of her parents, and a younger brother and sister. Her father is employed by the government. (During her stay here, Anne-Guri’s American parents were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schorr of Burlington.) Enjoying all phases of school life and extra-curricular activities, she liked the study of languages and is able to speak five different tongues. Upon graduation from her high school, Anne-Guri plans to attend Oslo University and become a translator. Her visit to BSHS has made us realize that world friendship can be and must be at- tained. 16
