n lews fearn Just off Wood Street, along the Delaware River, is the Community House, a popular place for the teen-agers. Although both young and old enjoy the facilities of this estate left to our city by one of its prominent citizens, its schedule provides many activities for the teen-agers to enjoy. Dances, games, parties, club meetings, exhibits, etc. are held there. It also sponsors city basketball and baseball leagues, badminton clubs, etc. A teen-age council plans and overlooks its activities through the year It is one of the places in Burlington where many of the teen-agers meet to have fun. Turning left off Wood Street onto Delaware Avenue, you will find in front of the VFW Building Plymouth Rock which is said to have been the spot where the colonists anchored their boats when they first came to Burlington. The Captain James Lawrence and James Fenimore Cooper Houses lend an historical air to High Street. These houses are restored, as much as possible, to the time when they were used by their original owners. Directly across the street, balancing the contrast of old and new, is the N. J. Bell Telephone Dial Building, which represents the modern and progressive Burlington. Pete's always is the last stop for an after-school soda, a Saturday night sundae, or a refreshing Coke after a terrific basketball game. Even through the week Pete's always has a group of soda sippers. The juke box is always playing, and many teen-agers meet there to enjoy a snack with their friends. the Station After hours . . .
