The BHS Band is made up of 25 members ranging from the fifth grade on up. The band under the direction of Mrs. Ruth Asay sponsored the Christmas dance, the Music Concert, and played for a number of basketball games. We were very fortunate this year in being able to attend clinics given for the woodwinds and brass sections of the band. We also heard a program given by Rafeal Mendez and his trumpet and the Powell High School Band at Powell. Because the Clinic method was carried out at the Music Festival this year, no ratings were given. The Band will be losing Howard McIntosh--Trumpet, Elnora Trumbull-Trumpet, Gayle Gormley-Alto Sax, Virjean Michaels--Tenor Sax, Norma Preator--Bass Horn Lola Neves--C1arinet,Cecil Lewis--Snare Drum, Joan Hodson-Bass Drum. The Chorus under the direction of M s. Ruth Asay has made very good showings this year. We have performed on many programs and also attended the Music Festival at Cody. The chorus will be losing through graduation Virjean Michaels, Nora Mae Wardell, Cecil Lewis, Elnora Trumbull as altosg Iroyv Clark, Darlene Cauffman, Lola Neves Gayle Gormley, Lucy Johnson, Joan Modson as sopranosg Howard McIntosh,tenor and Lee Christiansen, bass, Norma Preator, pianist. 12
