Now it is time for us to make our own decisions. We are proud of our high school. The pride is be- coming more evident with the new additions which will soon become a new campus. Above all on behalf of the students and myself, I would like to thank the administration and the teachers for the fine cooperation which they have always been willing to give us.I would also like to thank the busi- nessmen and friends of the student body who have shown their interests by suporting our many activities. I think it is easy to see that without this cooperation several projects would have died along the wayside. In closing I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire student body for their part in making this year a success Sincerely Don Wesen L Skaarup Treas H Potter, Sec , D Wesen, Pres , D Wills, V P A S B Presldent gxxxilell Don Wesen President Jim Dynes Brenda Thomas Senior Pres Senior Repr Soph. Tfeasq R' Van er Cla ss Officers SENIORS WMM nd ROW1 .l- Walden' We seniors must now realize that our high school days are coming to a close. The future stands before us, holding many opportunities. As we go our different ways we shall always remem- ber our senior year as a real milestone in our lives. It was during this year that we assumed the many responsibilities of leadership. Tiger Club, Girls' and Boys' Clubs, GAA, FFA, the editorship of the school publications, and many other organizations were headed by members of our class. We feel that much experience was gained and that we are better persons as a result of our service in school activities. In order that we might carry out the plans for our many activities, six capable class officers were chosen. They were jim Dynes, president, jim Walden, vice-president, Ruth Vander Vate, secretary, Sharon johnson, treasurer, Brenda Thomas and john Youngquist, representatives to the student council. We, the senior class, would like to thank all who have helped to make our four years of high school such a profitable experience - our teach- ers, the administration, the school board, and our parents. Not only have we learned from our books but we have formed many ideals and goals which will remain with us and influence our lives as we go out into the world on our ovm. To Burlington-Edison High School we bid a sad farewell, but with us go many fond memories of these past four years. Agn-s...-.f N JP' J if 1 ' 3 ei.. Lending guiding hands were our advisors Mrs. Harnden and Mr. Davies. - C, Wilson, e . ,I den, Adviser, Treese Treas., MTS' E mn ' kson, Repf' . .- M , DavieS S c.1,l- Sandall, R9Pf'3 M' Lmd' Pres I I The Thanksgiving program, junior Prom, Bac- calaureate and Commencement exercises for the seniors, pen assemblies and mixers were on the list of activities for the energetic juniors. Both boys and girls ranked high in organization work. Our boys made a fine showing on the gridiron, basketball court, baseball diamond and wrestling mats. We are all proud of their accomplishments. This long-awaited event found the Freshmen a bit doubtful of the new teachers, the new classes and the eager sopho- mores. First on our agenda of important business was the election of class officers. They were Roger Wills, president, Pat Rowe, vice-president, Ingrid Stakkestad, secretary, Patty Benson, treas- urerg julia Atwood and Bob Knutzen, representa- V.P.2 J- Atwood. Following this we all felt like full- fledged members of high school. Even though this was our first year in a new and different situation we participated in many extra-curricular activities. Members of our class represented us well in FHA and FFA, Pep Club and Tiger Club, band, chorus and many other clubs. All in all, we had a very successful, fun-packed year and we are looking forward to our next three at BEHS. Fredrickson - All Northwest League All District Tournament The 1958 football team had the most successful year since 1952 when Gene Fitzgerald led the Tigers through an undefeated season. At the beginning, other coaches and newspapers rated the Tigers as the underdogs. However, their tune was changed as the Tigers remained undefeated until their seventh game. The team had a lot of desire and spirit throughout the season. During the last game, after having a disas- terous night against Edmonds, and then losing a heart-breaker to Snohomish the following week, the Tigers bounced back to put on their finest show of the year. They walloped a good O'Dea team 48-14 in Seattle. At the close of the season four seniors were honored by being selected to play on the All-Northwest first team. They were: Don Wesen - center, Gary Tull - guard, Doug Ploeg - tackle, and Gene Simmons - halfback. Dan Lomsdalen and Jerry Banta received honorable mention. The student body would like to express their appreciation for a job well done. The ambition and sports- manship of Coach Rickert and the 1958 football team will be long-remembered. A fine team such as we had would bring honor to any school. 89 iv C OS 9 FI Gary Tull TIGERS 6 2 1 3 Walt Miller C V 5 n Elvis Dellingef FB Marv Fredr KM ickso BELLINGHAM FERNDALE SEDRO WOOLLEY ANIACORTES IVT.
