1972 Avonworth Marching Band The ninth annual Homecoming was held on Saturday, September 30, 1972. The Homecoming Parade at noon included guest bands from Avella, Avonworth, and Peters Township. The Homecoming Court and special guests, the Class of 1922, followed in cars. On arriving at the field the floats pass- ed by the judges' stand and members of the court and escorts were introduced and seated in the stands. The court and their escorts are as follows: Robbie Gilbert and Tom Cooper, Audrey Nunez and Dennis Zalaznik, Deb- bie Porter and Bob Mark, Karen Harper and Greg Serish, and Susie Howard and Dave Roberts. At half-time Queen Patty Couch was escorted to the center of the field by Benny Fernandez and crowned by Robin Fernendez, Student Council Vice- President. Kick-off for the football game against Avonworth was at 2:00 p.m. At half-time Burgettstown led by the score of 19-0 and went on to win 19-16. S
