With a total of 24 members in this year's orchestra which is larger than last year, director Mr. Hradek comments "This orchestra compares very favorable to the past orchestras. " Two orchestra members Elia Hernandez and Elizabeth Soderstrom are both taking part in Chamber Orchestra at UTEP. Elia also took part in state regionals. Sophomore Da vid Varela made second-year concert orchestra. Some of the members of this class expressed their own thoughts to ward the group and the art. "Each person has to do their best it's a team effort, " Mark Exclusa said. Elizabeth Soderstrom L...-.. Be- 5 this one of the many reasons, rn y students were enrolled in anish which has been taught for feral years by Mrs. Delgado. This year the Spanish Club con- ted of 26 members and officers were: President: Charlotte Mullen, Vice President: Rosanna Rivera, Secretary: Mike Ramos, Public Relations: Gabi Kennard. One of the purposes of the Spanish Club was to introduce students to the advantages of another culture and language. "The Spanish Club for this year was small but we did accomplish what we set out to do" Charlotte tiflfffirffffgffs. WE' -. flzfjilii 353' l .K . T" Af l 7 1 i Mullen said. The club sold homecoming cor- sages and garters as a fund raiser, for their competitions and trips. They held an Interna tional Week during the month of March, and attended the Modern Language Speech Tournament March 23rd.
