Programmed for success The 80's are the new era for computers. This year the Business Department received 75 new Ap- ple ll Computers. These systems included disk drives, printers, and the new Giltronix Peripheral Share Device 8000 which allows dif- ferent computers to share the same printer simultaneously. These computers were being us- ed by the two word processing NJN 45- 436 'x 0 ffl I . 7 s a K Y fa. W 5,4 3 Seniors Nora Noriega and Richard De La Cruz check out their work on the computer. Computers look lonely after class is over. An Apple ll's is a computer whiz's dream A computer runs through a graphic program. Norbert Ballard takes a break from his work. 206 - s and two Data Processing classes. All the teachers who taught classes using the computers believed that the computers would benefit the learning of students. Mrs. LaFoy, Chairperson for the Business Education Department, says that word processing is equivalent to Advanced typing. "Before we got the computers, ,,,,,,. t Q F we had to walk downstairs and share the computers in the math department. Now it's great that we had the computers closer in relation to where the Business department is located. " Since the computers came into use, more students have signed up for the courses being offered with computers. Only 4 years ago there were only five computers in ,..2---11--f 3 fic-,K the whole school. Now there are total of 45 computers in the various classrooms, "Computers are a new world and students need to participate, Mrs. Traylor commented, adding, "Computers are the best motiva- tional tool there is.
