'ff :ati Sa ckers chip in new sport One of the latest and newest pastimes has been the Wide World of Hackysackers. The sport of hackysack takes a lot of eye and foot coordination and good body balance. Most of the participants had a rough time getting started, but now it 's more of a challenge to be better and of course, show it off. The sack is made of a leather sewn sphere with plastic beads on the inside. There are about three groups around the school, approximately 20 players. Some of the finest players and David Pena, Tony Meulla, Jessie Moreno, and Sammy Tinajero. The groups have been out till 5:00 on school grounds perfec- ting the talent. The snow and rain earlier this year was some what of an obstacle for these groups to play, but now with the warm weather their playing is as good as ever. "9"Zw'W'g'f!- C' FQ 'E' """"i""1+'M"" . Being El Paso, one would hardly imagine the Sun City covered with a white blanket of snow. But it's true, El Pasoans did get their share of snowflakes this year. Throughout the city there were a different number of inches reported. Probably the worst sec- tion hit was the Northeast area where an estimated 9 to 70 inches of snow had fallen. Las Cruces was said to have had up to 75 in- ches, Snow did come as a shock for most visitors of the Sun City, but despite the cold weather they enjoyed themselves just as much. So much snow accumulated, that on February 7st less than 700 students attended school. Instead, many students stayed home, built a snowman and had snowball fights, But whatever activity they participated in one thing is certain, we all enjoyed the snow! 5 ,51 K.:. K .
