The junior Varsity baseball team started
practice February 2nd, when they began
their physical training. The training con-
sisted of running triangles, pitching, cat-
ching and swinging the bats in order to
build up their upper bodies.
"Although their batting was excellent,
their pitching and catching still needs im-
provement, " Coach Camilli stated.
The team was expected to place in the
top three in district, with Coronado being

This year's boys' varsity track team was
led and trained by Coach Paul Alsup. The
team consisted of 33 members, including
seven returning lettermen. These returning
lettermen were: Mark Hogue, Ronnie
Delgado, Abel Romo, Marc Ranc, Gerardo
Chaparro, Doug Berry, and Rene Vergara.
Many of the boys were inexperienced in
varsity competition, but their skills and
talents hekped the team overcome this
The boys' track team was well rounded.
They were able to score in most of the
events at the meets. The team was very
strong in the weght events, distances, and
the hurdles. t'We hope to steadily improve
throughout the season and be in good
position to compete well at the district
championship, " commented Coach Alsup.
The boys dedicated much of their time
for this team. They practiced from 2:30 to
5:30 each day.
