Students began anxiously awaiting
the Thanksgiving holidays after an ex-
citing, but tiresome three months.
Diana Calloway and Sergio Martinez
were elected to reign over Burges-in-
Bloom, as queen and king, Feb. 19.
Lady-in-vvaiting is Rosie Gonzalez with
Hank Bashore, aide-to-the-king. It was
decided that club representatives
would join Royal Visitors this year in
the ball procession.
Football closed the season with a 7-3
record, and the Mighty Mustangs
caught second place in District 1-AAAA
after being defeated by Coronado,
20-16. Basketball opened officially Nov.
19 with the roundballers looking strong
and enthusiastic about the season.
The current "jesus Revolution"
brought new ideas and beliefs to many
students who wanted to "turn off"
drugs and "turn onf' to reality. Daily
meetings during both lunch shifts were
held to discuss and read the Bible.
Representatives from LJ.T.E.P. helped
the VVomen's Clubs of El Paso register
18-year-olds for the vote. Burges stu-
dents vvere fortunate enough to register
on campus during and after school.
