' ,l21bbomsPeenlFootboJUEFcwwv Early fall started Burges students in full swing of the new school year. The rush and scurry had finally slowed down with students accustomed to early morning classes and nightly homework. Candidates for B-in-B royalty were elected and the date for the prom was tentatively set for Feb, 26, Football season opened officially Sept. 10 with the Mighty Mustangs in top shape. This brought pep ribbons, hall posters, pep rallies and the annual infection of football fever. Days of the Sales began with the 1972 Hoofbeats on Sept, 13. Pegasus, the literary magazine, was sold for S1 and Stampede newspaper came out twice a month for a dime. Grapefruit and oranges bythe pounds, and choco- late candy bars were sold by the Burges Band. Stuffed animals, spirit bells, gumi-bears, name plaques and key rings were peddled by various organiza- tions to squeeze nickels and dimes out of the student body for pet projects. .llr
