Burges' Get-Acquainted Dance provided great Yearlg Lineups Mark First Dags entertainment for leg watchers. . . . And so it begins again. The rush, rush, rush of registration beats frantically on the brain. Fill this out, This class is full, or Where do your parents work? To be the first in line for the next day of registration, four ambitious boys spent the night in front of the school. Changes also filled the air. There were fewer freshmen to pick on and many students felt it couldn't be time for school again. In the first couple of weeks of school the days were plenty long and the weather was iust right for swimming. The students were convinced they were in school though, when the Get Acquainted Dance was in full swing. l

Enjoying all the comforts of home, Chuck Jackson, John Andrews, Cliff Douglas, and Chuck Culver spent the night in front of the school to beat the registration rush. Pensive poses of a pigeon-toed cowboy and students lined up to register for classes represented the rigors of registration. l-4

Summer Daze ades to Fall. Football Fever To display their spirit, Burges students traveled to Albuquerque, to boost the Mus- tangs as football season opened. Spirit re- mained high as the Ponies fought through a winning season. New this year were student lD's, which were issued to all students in October. Another change from previous years was a new, more liberal dress code. Minis, midis, maxis, pants and culottes were common sights in the halls. These and other changes filled the air and promised on exciting and eventful year. Jim pictures year includ- ing those for the l.D.'s. Daisy, Daisy-Because the dress code was relaxed this year, Mary Pickett and Dede Sbns enioy new freedoms.
