QUEEN JO ANN MORRIS KING JIM BURNSED Betty Jo Revels Arthur Carle Annette Strnckland Buddy Taylor Beverly Rodgers Robert Cook 19 59 HOMECOMING Homecomrng thus year wlll prove most memorable to the Sensors of 'I960 as their last hugh school homecommg Beglnnmg the feSllVIlIeS were the usual pep rally bon fare and snake dance The parade was acclalmed one of the best ever because the floats represented more work and orlglnalrty than they have for many years The candidates for Homecomnng Queen were attured an lovely formals and they rode In convertubl s The Juniors with the consent of the student body changed the routnne homecomung procedures this year The Homecoming Court conslsted of four Sensor couples who were selected by the hugh school classes The Freshmen sponsored Betty Jo Revels and Arthur Carle the Sophomores Annette Strickland and Buddy Taylor the Juniors .lo Ann Moms and Jam Burnsed and the Seniors Beverly Rodgers and Robert Cook Crown bearers were Sue Ellen Seale and James Allen Brannam The Queen candudates wore suuts and hats at the home comlng game thus year for the furst tame The halftime show went along very well untll lust be fore the field lughts were to be turned on and the candidates were to be announced the young ladues were on the fleld but their escorts could not be found anywhere After the announcer called them fnve or slx tnmes they came sauntermg onto the fneld from the dlrectlon of the Clvlc Center where they had been huddllng wuth the rest of the team and recelvnng special Instructions from Coach Humphrey and Coach McGruff Everyone took their places on the field and the l958 Homecoming Kung and Queen Uames Kendall and Celestine Stanushl stepped forward to place the crowns on the heads of theur successors Jo Ann Morrus was crowned Homecoming Queen of 'I959 and Jnm Burnsed was crowned Homecomung Kung of T959 The band hon ored the Class of 1949 durung the halftume show The members of thus class who were attendung the game were Introduced to the auduence The only dark cloud on the horizon was that Bunnell lost the Homecoming Game to Branford I2 to 6 The Homecomnng Dance was very successful It was held at the CIVIC Center followlng the game Everyone seemed to enloy dancing to the musnc of the Country Rocks Page ElghtyO e - 1 1 ' ' 1 ' I . . .
