I, Bu1lard's First Kindergarten Class, Spring 1946, FRONT ROW, L to R: Gregory Wayte, Kaye Ann Eliason, Phyllis Lovens, Patty Lloyd, Penny Cobb, Kaye Bonner, Lynn Brown, Lora Lee Hansen, Janis Mode, Patsy Baird, Carol Jacobsen. REAR: Eugene DuBois, Tommy Fisher, John Leuchauer, Craig Llewellyn, Nip Gallagher, Tommy Marsella, Julian Hughes, Miss lone Wesernan. John Leuchauer, Julian Hughes, Janis Mode, Carol Jacobsen, and Patty Lloyd find themselves in the twelve year old picture as they reminisce their kindergarten days. First All the Way This was the class which in 1946 was large enough to warrant the opening of the first kinder- garten in the Bullard district. Throughout the elementary school years this class led in the establishing of firsts : First to perform the may- pole ceremony, first class to be served in the new cafeteria at Bullard Elementary School, first eighth grade to be graduated by the newly-formed Bullard Unified School District, first ninth grade class at the new Fort Miller Junior High in Fresno Cityg and the first tenth grade of the new Bullard High where as the oldest of the Knights, it has been first in every form of leadershipg and now first to graduate from Bullard High. The history of the Class of '58 is, in a way, the history of the Bullard Unified Districtg for as the class grew, so grew the district from one elementary school to four elementary, one junior high, and one high school, all within a handful of years. The Class of '58 also has the distinction of being the only class which the Bullard Unified School District will graduate as seniors, for on July 1 the district annexes to the Fresno City Unified School District. Farewell, Class of '58, We thank you for your leadership. Being first was not always easy, but you met the challenge and proved your mettle. May you continue to be first all the way in all you attempt.
