Girls' League held its annual backwards dance on October I9, 1974. The dancers gyrated to the sounds of Kinetic Company. ' li The Community As a Classroom Again this year our local community served as a learning opportunity. Involvement in the local community can serve as a learning experience for both the students and the community as a whole. Buena students have been involved in a number of community activities this past year. Approximately 200 Buena students, mostly seniors, have helped Camarillo State Hospital residents to make contact with the local community. Some of the ways hospital residents have been brought into the community are: l. Football games- a total of over 30 mentally retarded residents attended two of our home football games. 2. Fair Day- 35 Buena stu- dents served as escorts for either mentally retarded or emotional disturbed residents at a special outing to the Ventura County Fair. 3. Gym nights- Tuesday night for emotionally disturbed, Thursday night for mentally retarded.
