Klope angaroos it Tom Klope will be joining Kangaroos and Koala bears for a year ofeducation. On January 13, he headed for Mount Plea- sant, Australia, to become the second bro- ther to three sisters in the Angas Haeusler home. Interestingly, he has just the opposite Stateside with three brothers and one sister here. He will follow an Australian course of study in Agriculture, Chemistry, Australian His- tory, Math, Social Studies, and Soccer at Birdwood High School. After learning about American Field Service from exchange students, he applied in Sep- tember. A lot of requirements were fulfilled, from interviews to resumes. Some credits creating this junior's cruise were: achieving Eagle Scout-Troop 128, grade ranking high enough to earn a berth on California Scholarship Federation, and athletic participation in Cross Country and Track earning letters in both. Musically, he played alto saxophone in the prize win- ning Buena Band. He was active in Bible Study Club and Inter Class Forum before departing. Tom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. William T. Klope Sr. His twin brother Matt currently attends Buena as a Junior.
