Wife I ... M H Vahide Gexchangesi experiences 9 WZ s ,Q 9 wp yy ,ang VAHIDE AND TAMMY TRY A TREE TO RELAX. A Mediterranean land is well represented on Buena's cam- pus this year by Vahide Bilir. Vahide arrived from the town of Sakarya where she lives with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ali Bilir, and brothers Ugar and Ismail. Vahide lives with the Robert Pratt family, with one Ameri- can sister, Tammy, at home. She also has four other Ameri- can sisters not at home. Vahide doesn't feel that her observations of America have been limited by her stay in a smaller town. She has at- tended three weddings and has enjoyed traveling to Marineland, Disneyland, Hollywood Bowl, Yosemite, and concerts of the L.A. Sym- phony. Her hobbies consist of art, music, drama, folk dancing, photography and medicine. At her school in Turkey, everybody wears a uniform and teachers change class- rooms instead ofthe students. School activities take place on weekends and between classes. Vahide plans to attend Medi- cal School in Ankara. In turn to attend four years in training to become a surgeon. Vahide had the honor of being President of her Student Body and has also won prizes in art as well as being chosen A.F.S. student. 175 ,WW
