California Scholarship Federation California Scholarship Federation is affiliated with the state-wide organization which has as its motto: Scholarship for Service . Points are awarded each semester, three for an 'A', one for a 'B', and corresponding points for extra-curricular activities, ten points are re- quired for membership. Seniors who have achieved membership for four semesters may be- come life members and are specially honored at graduation. Service projects include a tutoring service, stu- dent bookstore, and working with blind children. NMST Qualifying Test Rated scholastically among the top students in the nation, these students achieved semi-finalist status on the National Merit Scholarship Test. Administered during the spring of their junior yearg they scored at least 146 points of a possible 1 60. Semi-finalist are, left to right: Steve Petersen, Mariette Schmidt, and John Thow.
