Class History One bright, sunny morning, September 5, 1939, Eileen Christman, Evelyn Johnson, rvel Kurtz, Betty Laughbaum, Thelma Stoneman, Frederick Shifley and Bill Zimmerman he present Senior Class enrolled in the first grade. The following enrolled while we e in grade school: Richard Speece and Evelyn Rankin, fourth grade, LaVern Carr, 1 grade and John Green, sixth grade. Miss Irma Heinla, Miss Muriel Crall and Miss Ethel Guinther helped us through the ,t six grades. David McDonald enrolled in our class when we were in the seventh grade. Bitsy floss and Irene Eicher joined us in the eighth. After eight years of hard work, we :red high school. The following assumed their responsibilities as class officers during Freshman year: Richard Speece, presidentg LaVern Carr, vice-president: Evelyn nson, secretaryg Evelyn Rankin, treasurer.. The president and vice-president were the lent council representatives that year. We had two class parties during the year. Our isor was Miss Helen K. Sherer. When we entered our Sophomore year, Alice Kurtz from New Mexico had enrolled in class. The officers chosen were LaVern Carr, president, Thelma Stoneman, vice- sidentg Alice Kurtz, secretary and treasurerg and Richard Speece, student council resentative. Norman J. Spitzer was our class advisor. We had two class parties at school. Mr. Probst, our Civics teacher, took the Freshmen and Sophomores to visit the xsfield Reformatory, Ohio State Penitentiary and the Feeble-Minded Institute at Orient, o. These trips were very interesting and educational. We started our Junior year by electing our class officers, Thelma Stoneman, presidentg 'ern Carr, vice-president: Betty Laughbaum, secretaryg Richard Speece, treasurer, and rvel Kurtz, student council representative. During the first week of school we chose our is rings and received them November 5, 1949. Our Junior Class Play, The Crazy Castles, was presented November 30, 1949. We nsored a Donkey Basketball game, December 14th. This helped to finance the Junior Senior Banquet. Miss Helen K. Sherer, our advisor, helped us plan the banquet. This , held at the Roehr House in Bucyrus, May 12, 1950. After the dinner, the group went he theater. For our Senior year we elected as our officers, Richard Speece, president, LaVern r, vice-president: Betty Laughbaum, secretary, David McDonald, treasurer, and Ima Stoneman, student council representative. We had our graduation pictures taken October 19, 1950. Another Donkey Basketball ie was sponsored January Z, 1951. After completing twelve successful years, we are :ing forward to our Senior trip, Baccalaureate and Commencement. 12
