After we settled in to the routine of high school from the initial shock, we elected Valerie Loveless. President: Mike Varney, Vice-President: Wendy Brennan, Secretary, Brent Bennett, Treasurer: and Mike Lofton and Melinda McCulley as our Student Council Representatives. We showed our Hawk Pride as we participated in the Homecoming events. The theme for our freshman year was HGoing for the Goldln AS SUMMER ENDED and school began in 1984, most of us returned as sophomores. The number of students in our class this year was 179. Our officers were President Port Parker, Secretary Patty McKay, Treasurer Yolanda Peru, and Representatives Mike Lofton and Melinda McCulley, The Homecoming theme was NThe Year of the Hawkn. We were all relieved when 1985 came around and George OrweIl's prophesy did not come true. For this reason, we felt it fitting to have our own prophesies in our Senior yearbook. AS JUNIORS, we arrived at BUHS with 176 students. ln th Spring of 1985, we had elected Melinda McCulley, President: Mike Newman, Vice-President: Raquel Uballe, Secretary: Dan Burton. Treasurer: and Port Parker and Melissa Lueck as the Student Council Representatives. We held with tradition and sold fruitcakes to raise money for the JuniorlSenior Prom at the Hotel Westcourt in Phoenix. The Homecoming theme was uAt the Moviesn. GUlDlNG OUR CLASS OF 173 in our last year at Buckeye Union High School was Sherry Johns, President: Christy Johns Vice-President: Shari Drake, Secretary, Patty McKay, Treasurer: and Shandra Simmons and Iris Slivers, as the Student Council Representatives. We sponsored the Homecoming events and our theme was UJust for the Fun of ltln WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS to be self-evident. that all men are created equal. However, we believe the following thought best summarizes mankind in his high school years and his destiny. fit., Freshman don't know they don't know.
