enior . c: 'ZA ,uh 5 the motto of Companionship, Work, and Leisure is Comwolei, Buchtel's service club, This year the officers were Virginia Collins, president: Anne Patsy, lst vice-president: Bill Smithers, Znd vice-president: Dorothy Holloway, record- ing secretary: Mary Cattran, corresponding secretary: and Dwight Vincent, treasurer. Important projects of Senior Comwolei included the presen- tation of a portable organ to the school, Friendship Day. filling Red Cross boxes for European relief, and providing food and entertainment to the underprivileged people of the community. Miss Helen Pfahl is the adviser. 'A' if 'k ornwo ei ik ir 'A' Iunior Comwolei is the service orqanization of the after- noon school. Its one hundred members are recruited from the 9A, IGB, and 10A classes. This year Comwolei has enqaqed in Red Cross activities, projects for local charitable organizations, handled t'i'i routine of various school collections, sponsored a successful dance, and kept an eye open for any project of benefit to Buchtel. lts officers were Nancy Cadot, president: Joy Cohagan, vice-president: Ioan Everhard, secretary: and Bruce Rock- well, treasurer. . . unfor 32

Ze :fir Non scholae sea vitae discimusu, is the Latin Club motto. The purpose ot Latin Club is to broaden the Latin student's knowledge oi the classics and the ancient Greek and Roman civilization, in this way inspirinq each student to do some creative work. The Iunior Classical League key has been adopted as the Buchtel Latin Club pin. The Altae Lucae is the newspaper sponsored by the Latin Club, in which all the Latin students are encouraged to take a part. To be eligible to join Latin Club, the student must have a high scholastic average and maintain that average after joininq. The Buchtel Latin Club is planning a joint meeting with West Latin Club May 27, at Camp Mingo. The officers are: Marilyn McCreary, president: lim Graves, vice-president: Sally VonGunten, secretaryr and lean McConnell, treasurer, 'k 'k i' i' 'k i' ,Jan idA The Spanish Club officers this year were Marcia Kuhlke. president: Yvonne Abraham, vice-president: Helen Dossett, secretary: and Betty Ann Street, treasurer. The sponsor of the club was Miss Marie Lalli, Spanish teacher. Last fall the Spanish club had a picnic at Camp Mingo. ln Ianuary one of the most successful and unusual dances oi the year was given by the Spanish club. It was called the Cabaret dance--the Mexican Nightclub. At the meetings movies and speakers explain the cus- toms of the Spanish and Latin American people. cs
