The 1947 King B. court was crowned at the Va1entine's Day Mixer on Friday, February 14, 1947- The king this year was Iim Mercer, a senior. Dick Romweber was first knight. Other knights of the court were: seniors, Iim Beverly, Tom Chap- man, Vince Del Medico, and Phil Ferdinand: juniors, Dick Everhard and Bob Wilson: sophomores, Iohnny Bly and Bill Lilley: and freshmen, Iohnny Spiegel and Christy Sarvis. ay gourf omecoming gourf ' 1 Came May Day and we chose Frances Haramis to reign as our queen. Crowned by the 'fair Arlene Swanson, our lovely queen was attended by Marcia Kuhlke and Betty Vaughn. who acted as maids of honor. Other senior attendants were Marilyn McCreary and Mary Ann Thomas. The juniors, represented. by Charlotte Hakes and Iane Bridges, were followed in the procession by Bonnie Akins and Mary Baremore, sophomores- The freshmen showed wise judgment in their choices of Annalee Bornhofen and Ioan Tritchler. We thought we were very lucky to have such a wonderful last May Day court. ' The Homecoming Game of 1946 was against Kenmore at the Rubber Bowl on November 1. We lost the game, but it was still a gay event because the queen and her court were crowned. The 1946 queen was Ioan Crutcher. a junior. She was crowned by Anne Guth, last year's queen. The attend- ants were: seniors, Arlene Swanson. Marilyn McCrearv. and Betty Vaughn: juniors, Mary Cattran, Martha Minck, and Mary Firestone: sophomores, Iackie Barlowe and Ianet Stewart: lreshies, Gwynn Doyle and Carol Ward.

Its members are elected for a term of one year by the students themselves. The Council sponsors school dances. sells pencils, charters clubs, and gives school programs. Sponsored by L. O. Weiss, the Council is always progressively active in rounding out student body activities. Wafiona! ,Alonor .gociefg National Honor Society is an honorary club whose members must be in the upper third ot their class. Elected by the faculty, the members are judged on scholarship, character, leadership. and service. The president this year was Estelle Polevoi, and fifty members were inducted. N. H.
