OUR EXECUTIVE FFICER Our ship's five departments all come under the direction of the Execu- tive Officer Who, in line with the Captain's desires, sets the Standards to which We all adhere. The Exec is at the focal oint of th h p e c ain of command which culminates with the Captain who has responsibility f , d . . . . or eveiyone an everything aboard the ship. The Executive Officer en- sures that the Captain is free from the minutiae of paper Work and day to day routine occurences and administration, enabling the Captain to concentrate on the safe and effective operation of the ship in meeting her many and varied commitments. Our Executive Officer is Lieutenant Commander Rudolph I-I. Daus. I-le reported aboard on June 27, 1964 and saw us through the completion of the ship's first overhaul and refresher training.
