37. 7. 0. The mission of Public Information of the United States is to inform the public of the importance of seapower and understanding of the Navy's role today and in the Future. The mission of the Public Infor- mation Office of the BRYCE CANYON is not quite as big but in a small way the job it does adds to the Navy's vital program of keeping the public informed, by the Fleet Hometown News service. The Public Information Office of the BRYCE CANYON accomplished it's mission with one officer and one enlisted man writing the stories and sending them out to Navy and civilian press. Dom Clod, the Skipper's ficticious character was a humor- ous true-to-life story with a message to all. The sequences of this experienced character were read and enjoyed by everyone.
