Mrs. Lewis, Sophomore counselor, Miss Lively, Junior counselor, and Mrs. Windor and Mrs. Chamblee, Senior counselors, fill their days by giving advice to students troubled by personal prob- lems, in straightening out confused student schedules, in advising students on vocational and educational possibilities and requirements, and in offering many other services to students. My desk is a mess, just look at it.

Evaluating Excuses Checking attendance, signing admit cards and hall passes, and restraining a smile as she explains gent- ly to a student that while she is sympathetic she has serious doubts that his grandmother died on three succesive days and caused him to be absent without an excuse from home, Miss Carmichael is one of the busiest members of the administrative staff. In addition to the many details involved with keeping tabs on over three thousand students, Miss Carmichael counsels with students, listens to their problems, and still finds time to attend allmost every sports event and school activity. Serving Students The heart of any educational institution is its library. The well-organized and efficiently run Bryan Adams library, through Miss Hattie Fowler and her staff, offers the student an endless variety of services which encourage and satisfy intellectual curiosity. Another equally valuable service to the students is that rendered by the Bryan Adams nursing staff and their student assistants. Not only do they attend to the multitude of ills which arise daily in a student population of over three thousand, but they also keep accurate growth records of each stu- dent. It looks like iL's English you want to miss today. Miss Fowler has the Dewey Decimal System at her finger- tips.
