LUSBVL ADC IRC Mr. Don Dillehay sponsored IRC during the 1978-79 year. Officers included Paul Lusby, president- Val Rieger, vice-president; Kara Cornum, secretary; and Pat Lee, treasurer. In the fall of the year, the club visited the Civil Defense Center in Denver. They also had a special Thanksgiving banquet. Other activities included con- cessions, a candy apple raffle, several pot luck sup- pers, cake raffles, a pizza party, a spring picnic, a booth in the homecoming carnival, and the annual end-of-the-year banquet.

Out of these stu- dents, Jan Mitchell qualified to go to the nationals in Houston, Texas, with a sixth place in advertising. Jan flew to Houston on May eighth and par- ticipated through the eleventh. Although she did not place, she commented the trip was a very good experience and she had a good time. 27

LBCUWQ ACA Advised by Ken McReynolds, the Vocational Clubs of America at B.H.S. sent eight members to Yuma for the Fall Leadership Conference in October. They also sent four of the VICA Auto. Mechanics to Greeley for the 78 79 Skills Olympics in February. During the District Confer- ence held at Yuma in February, the eight members from Brush qualified for the state contest, which was held at Denver in March. The officers of the VICA Club are as follows: President and District Vice-President Larry Leis; Vice President Joe Ely; Treasurer James Kissler; Secretary Doug Mohrlang; Reporter Wes Schmer; Parliamentarian Mark Perez; His- torian John Chubbuck; and the newly appointed 79-80 District Reporter Tom Jiminez. 29
