Class History The Class of '53 entered B. H. S. bewildered and frightened but uttered a sigh of relief when they found they had escaped initiation. With Mrs. Wood and Mr. Johnson as class sponsors they elected class officers soon after the beginning of school. They were: Myrna Baird and Duane Teter, Presidents; Lyle Marietta and Verl Owens, Vice Presidents; Ardelle Lesser and Elaine Seeley, Secretaries; Jerry Hartwig and Eunice Noff- singer, Treasurers; Bob Clift and Emma Montoya, Student Council Representatives. Sponsoring a number of dances, building and bonfire or the Snake Dance, and entering a prize- winning float in the homecoming parade were some of the highlights oi me first year. The next year a determined and eager group of sophomores entered B. H. S. They elected Don Seder and Bob Clift, Presidents; Joy Pollock and Louise Meininger, Vice Presidents; Buddy Pote and Janelle Hanson, Secretaries; Jimmie Lee and Verl Owens Treasurers; Jerry Hartwig and Lloyd Spafford, Student Council Representatives. The class sponsors. Miss Burkett and Mr. Lindberg, led mem through another successful year, helping out with dances, sophomore hayride, Commencement and Baccalaureate decorations. Ready to go to work and with plenty of work to do, the Juniors of '53 started the year by electing Mary Lou Friehauf, President; Joy Pollock, Vice President; Shirley Patton, Treasurer and Betty Hall, Secretary. Mr. Burroughs and Miss Young put them to work selling concessions at football games, entering anotner prize-winning float, and having a beautiful prom and banquet. For their last year they elected Charles DeLong, President; Eddie Hanson, Vice President; Verl Owens. Secretary; Danny Scott, Treasurer. Mrs. Wood and Mr. Lally were the sponsors and really helped out with guidance for a good graduation. Also their last year they had another prize-winning float.

Senior Class Prophecy The Class of 1953 in 1963 CHARLES DeLONG has at long last graduated from BHS. DORENA LUDLAM is now one of the best secretaries to graduate from BHS. ELAINE SEELEY was recently elected the first lady sheriff of Morgan county. NINA JUNE ZOLLARS is thriving nicely on her wheat farms south of Brush. BOB CLIFT has been appointed deputy sheriff by special request of the sheriff of Morgan county. EUNICE NOFFSINGER has bought 100 shares in the DeSoto-Plymouth Company. JOY POLLOCK was, a few months ago, appointed Secretary of the Treasury of the United States. JERRY HARTWIG has defeated Larry Graham in the U. S. tennis singles final. JON NIEMUTH after ten years has finally paid off the traffic fines he got while at BHS. ALLEN MORMAN has just completed a very successful professional football career. LOUISE MEININGER is a concert cello player with the NBC Symphony Orchestra. ELMER WEINMASTER is now president of the Kodak Film Company BETTY JEAN DANIELSEN is now a leading model in Denver. MARILYN DAVIS has taken over the Molly Mayfield column for the Rocky Mountain News. GWENDOLYN HALL has been steadily rising in world wide bowling fame; she just last week broke her own record of 320. DOLA SWOPES still hasn't found anything to do. LYLE MARIETTA'S hair, in his old age, is turning pink. He is now known as Pink”. FLOYD GUZMAN is doing well as a beet farmer. BRADLEY KIDWELL is now feature editor of the Denver Post and cartoon editor of the Saturday Evening Post. RICHARD MAYHUGH has moved back to Wiggins for the tenth time in as many years. BARBARA ADAMS now owns a large oil field near Brush. SHIRLEY REPP has taken over the vacancy left in the homemaking department by Mrs. Becker. MYRNA BAIRD has announced her intention to run for the Vice Presidency of the United States. JANELLE HANSON has been awarded the top stylist award in a New York beauty salon. BETTY JANE BRANDT, now Mrs. George Hall, has just returned from Denver after visiting the head office of the Hall Plumbers Inc. MARY LOU FRIEHAUF is doing well on one of the farms she inherited north of Brush. LLOYD SPAFFORD, JIM LEE and JIM WEIMER have recently been named All-American Halfback, All- American Fullback and All-American Drawback, respectively. BETTY JO HENRY has signed several movie contracts and is rising in fame as a starlet. DON BOSTRON is celebrating his fourth anniversary in Brush High as Agriculture teacher, succeeding Mr. Mark Richards. LOUCINDIA MONNAHAN is doing a flourishing business making and selling leather goods in a small shop in Old Mexico. MARY ANN'SCHILLING, as head soda jerk at Brushland, has discovered several new recipes for sundaes. CAROLYN KAHLER has recently received fame as world's top comedian. DOROTHY DILLEY has patented a new metallic tint for the hair, named Dilley Fluorescent Hair Glow. ” WILMA ATKINSON has purchased Arthur Murray’s dancing school and has re-organized it exclusively for male trade. BEMMALOU TOMKY has been chosen Miss Seamstress of 1963. BETTY HALL is teaching homemaking at Fort Collins; they say that she is the best they have ever had. ROSEMARY NONEMAN is a registered nurse at Eben-Ezer, after graduating from Saint Luke's Hospital in Denver. ARDELLE LESSER has fulfilled her ambition and is a veterinarian, specializing in the care of dogs. CAROLYN REIFSCHNEIDER is teaching twirling and popping gum to all sixth graders at Central. WANDA HOLDEN. Her position as head secretary for the Governor of Colorado has proved most successful. MARGARET HERMAN is now working in the homemaking research department as a professional vocation at Colorado A M. EDWARD HANSEN has been doing well as a beet farmer and has a large farm covering most of what used to be Fort Morgan, Colorado. BILL AMBROSE after trying out for professional football decided to take up professional sports writing. RICHARD HALL has won his 150th wrestling match and is middle weight champion of the world. KENNY LEBSOCK has been prosperously farming his grandad’s farm between Brush and Morgan the past six years. LILLIAN SHANK has been awarded a blue ribbon on her famous Angel food cake at the state fair.
