To Miss Walters, one of the best teachers in Brush High, to one of the most understanding members of the faculty, for always being helpful, kind, and cooperative, a booster for the school and silent to its shortcomings, for the wonderful things she has done to forward the high standards of this worthy institution, we dedicate the 1951 SAGEBRUSH. Not only does education mean intellectual develop- ment, but it also means an organized environment which will influence a more favorable personal development of every student attending a school. Of course, each in- dividual will develop to the degree that he wisely in- vests his time. Education is a cooperative adventure— pupil and teacher relationship. The calendar of time is available for all, but the use of time is an individual matter. It is an objective of the secondary school to encourage every pupil attending to learn to utilize time so he will progress toward higher ideals of living as well as securing basic educational experiences essential for future specialization. You seniors have completed twelve school years and I trust that the most of you have made a good investment. Time waits for no one. Education does not cease upon graduation, but is a contin- uous process. Remember to use your time and abilities so that you will always be moving with the stream of progress. K. L. Isabelle Bass Phyllis Blessing, center, who reigned as queen at the Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet and her two attendants, Evelyn Hansen and Marybelle Brandt. The theme of this year’s Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet was Under the Sea. All possible methods of following this theme were put into practice. The banquet tables were covered with flowers arranged in lovely bouquets with lighted candles in the center of each. On the menu for the lucious feast were Sea Goddess Bait, Neptune's Favorite, Roast of Shark, Treasure Cases, White Caps with Breakers, Fresh Ocean Seaweeds. Sea Biscuits and Pirates Gold, Jelly Fish, Sea Foam and Mermaids Delight, and Water of the Murky Deep. All were served by the blue-clad mermaids. The fishy program was as follows: N NEATH THE ROLLING DEEP — By King Neptune. E EXALTED KING. JEWELS FOR YOUR CROWN — By an old Kingfish. P PORPOISE AT PLAY — By the Howling Dogfish. T TREASURE CHEST BURIED AT SEA — By a Deep Sea Diver. U UNDER CURRENT — By the Star Fish. N NUTS — By an Ole Sea Lion. E EBBTIDE — By a Blowfish. The armory was beautifully decorated also and gave the impression to the visitor that he was deeply submerged under the surface of the ocean. In one corner a sail on a boat flapped in the wind. Fish swam everywhere you looked. Bob Johnson and his musical mackerals furnished the melodies for our dancing pleasure. Phyllis Blessing was crowned queen at the intermission ceremonies.
