CLASS HISTORY The class of ’53 entered B. H. S. in September of 1949. We were lucky and escaped initiation. After enrollment there was the usual bewilderment in trying to find the different class- rooms. The class had as our sponsors, Mrs. Wood and Mr. Johnson. We elected class officers soon after the beginning of school. Nine-X officers: Myrna Baird, President; Lyle Marietta, Vice President; Ardelle Lesser, Secretary; Jerry Hartwig, Treasurer; and Bob Clift, Student Council Representative served as class officers for the first semester, with the officers of the 9-Y; Duane Teter, President; Verl Owens, Vice President; Elaine Seeley, Secretary; Eunice Noffsinger, Treasurer; and Emma Montoya, Student Council Representative serving the last semes- ter as class officers. Our activities for the year consisted of sponsoring a number of dances, building the bonfire for the Snake Dance, and enter- ing a prize-winning float in the Homecoming Parade.
