Junior Class History V As Freshman, the class of ’48, under the leadership of Allen Capper, entered the time-worn, sacred precincts of B.H.S., with the shout of O Highly Honored Senior!” Some of the cruel punishments inflicted on them were relieved by a watermelon feast given for frosh by the Senior Class on initiation day. The next year, under the presidency of Ray Meininger, the class of '48 rose to take the blue ribbon award in the Homecom- ing and second place in the inter-class plays. The customary hayride was given, by this original class, in the spring instead of fall. This momentous year was closed by the customary decor- ation for Baccalaureate and Commencement. FIRST ROW: Doris Rediess, Bob Roe, Marjorie Sauerbreit, Bob Sharrit, Wayne Small. Headed by Lloyd Loren3en, the class of ’48 again carried off top honors in the Homecoming parade. With the much needed and appreciated help of their spon- sors, Mrs. Wilkerson and Mr. Richards, the Juniors gave a suc- cessful banquet and prom, May 19, 1497. The theme was “Aloha.” The prom and banquet was very efficiently managed this year by Eloise Starr with the help of other co-operative Juniors. SECOND ROW: Mary Sorenson, Eloise Starr.
